Who we are
- Atharva Karnik is an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor. ARN: 273845, valid till July 2029. You can verify this on the AMFI website.
- Life insurance: insurance agent of LIC of India.
- General and health insurance: insurance agent of HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited.
As an agent, we can offer the products of the insurers we represent, not every insurer in the market.
What we are, and are not
We are a mutual fund distributor and insurance agent. We are not an Investment Adviser registered with SEBI, and we do not charge a separate advisory fee. Any explanation or suggestion we give is incidental to distributing the products described on this website.
How we are paid
- Mutual funds: when you invest in the regular plan of a scheme through us, the fund house (AMC) pays us a commission, mainly as trail commission for as long as you stay invested. This is included in the scheme’s expense ratio; you do not pay it separately. Direct plans of the same schemes have a lower expense ratio and pay no commission to distributors. The commission we receive from each fund house is available on request.
- Insurance: the insurer pays us a commission on the premium you pay, within the limits set by IRDAI. This is included in the premium, and details are available on request.
Risk disclosures
- Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully.
- Past performance is not indicative of future returns. Returns from mutual funds are not guaranteed, and you may get back less than you invest.
- Insurance is the subject matter of solicitation. Please read the sales brochure and policy wording carefully before buying. Benefits, exclusions and claim decisions are governed by the policy terms and are decided by the insurer.
- Tax benefits depend on current tax laws, which may change, and on your personal situation. Please consult your tax adviser.
- Information on this website is general and educational. It does not take your personal situation into account and is not a recommendation to buy any product.
Grievance redressal
If you have a complaint, please follow these steps:
- Contact us first: info@atharvakarnik.com or +91 77387 25741. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
- If your complaint is about a mutual fund investment and is not resolved, contact the fund house (AMC) or its registrar. You can also complain to SEBI through SEBI SCORES, and use the SMART ODR portal for online dispute resolution.
- If your complaint is about an insurance policy and is not resolved, contact the insurer’s grievance cell. You can then approach IRDAI through Bima Bharosa or the Insurance Ombudsman.
